DEPARTMENT OF NETWORKING AND SYSTEM SECURITY Programmes:
The department offers the following programmes:
(i) National Innovation Diploma (NID) in Networking and System Security,
(ii) Certificate in Networking
Objectives of the programme:
A product of NID in Networking & System Security should be able to:
(i) Diagnose and correct faults on different networks;
(ii) Implement network security and handle back up and recovery;
(iii) Install, configure and troubleshoot all types of network hardware devices;
(iv) Set up and upgrade a computer network;
(v) Start a small and medium scale enterprise that would provide solutions to organizations’ networks;
(vi) Manage and administer computer network for optimum utilization;
(vii) Update the performance and baseline of a network using network monitoring tools.
Entry Qualifications:
The entry qualifications into National Innovation Diploma in Networking & System Security programme include any of the following:-
(a) Five (5) credit level passes in GCE “O” level or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) at not more than two sittings. The five subjects must include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English language and any other subject.
(b) National Vocational Certificate (NVC, Final) or National Technical Certificate {NTC} with credit passes in the trade modules and five academic subjects relevant to the programme and at least a pass in English language.
